Laura Brikmann

Laura Brinkmann is a spanish/german photographer who’s long terms projects explore concepts related to the passage of time in an experimental way.

Much of the work she has done over the past years has been the investigation

of historical techniques combining them with digital ones.

Like science, photography is a discipline that involves testing ideas and learning from failures to explore new paths.

 

Laura Brinkmann has a degree in Psychology at the University of Granada and in Visual Communication, specializing in Photography, at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

She has exhibited individually at the CCP in Malaga with «Volutas» in 2008, at the Evelyn Botella Gallery during Photoespaña with «Bitter Harvest» in 2009, at the JM Gallery with «Conversations with Goethe» in 2022 and in Le Confort des Etranges Gallery in Toulouse in 2023, among other shows.

Her work has been exhibited at numerous group shows at Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich,Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art, Cac Málaga Museum and Andalusian Center of Photography among other shows. She has participated at art fairs such Photo Brussels Festival, Lisbon Art Fair and has had a solo show during Phe Photoespaña among others.

She has received several honorary awards such as Award for Artistic Production from the Council of Málaga and Obra Social La Caixa, the first prize in Málaga Crea Contest and a production support of Iniciarte.
